Shipping and handling!

For fish and any live animals or invertebrates, we only ship on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays. If you place your order on or after Sunday, we may not ship until the following week.

Shipping options

We offer 3 different shipping services with 2 different carriers, both of which have drawbacks and advantages.

UPS 1 day shipping, we offer this service for everything, and we use this service all year. We highly recommend this service, as we rarely have any issues.

USPS priority mail Flat Rate 2-4 days. We will be offering this shipping service for select species and Shrimp/invertebrates

USPS Ground Advantage: We use this service for live plants and non-perishable items such as our Indian Almond leaves. This service takes 4-6 days, typically, but can sometimes take longer.

Please note we do not ship to Hawaii or Alaska. We also do not ship internationally!

Shipping Times and Delays

In the case of bad weather, we may put your order on hold for up to 2 weeks. This is for the health and safety of our livestock. For live fish and shrimp, we do not ship with temperatures below freezing using USPS Priority Mail however, for UPS 1 day, we do. We ship every Monday and Tuesday, and sometimes Wednesday, depending on the shipping service used this is to ensure no delays over the weekend and to have a faster shipping time.

Order cancelations

We cannot cancel orders unless there are extreme circumstances, and payment processing fees will be applied!

Packaging

What to expect when you open a box from us we use ¾ inch Styrofoam liners and newspaper, along with a heat pack/icepack when needed depending on the weather, this cost is already added when you purchase the shipping for live fish or shrimp from us. We also use breather bags for shrimp most of the time. Depending on the amount of shrimp in the order, these are bags that conduct oxygen exchange, so they do not need air at the top. We may also sometimes use breather bags for fish, but it depends on the species. For live plants depending on the weather, we may add some form of packing material either newspaper or reflective insulation. This is also already factored into the shipping cost when you place an order with us!
